Episode #294
It’s easier than you think.
Here’s a simple way for you to tell the right story to a potential donor.
Forget about trying to remember your mission statement or your elevator pitch. This is so much easier and much more effective when it comes to engaging a potential donor in a conversation.
In the video, Rachelle Nesta shares a trick she learned at the Nonprofit Storytelling Conference. The presenter she learned it from was Peter Drury.
Today’s video was actually filmed while I interviewed Rachelle about how the conference changed the way her organization tells stories. If you’d like to watch the videos from that conference, you can get them by going to nonprofitstorytellingconference.com/video-option.

This is a powerful and simple reminder of the importance of listening to the questions your donor asks. Those questions will often reveal what’s really important for your donor and what they care about. Thanks! Well done Rachelle!

What I heard Rachelle very clearly and simply state is the vision of what the work of her organization makes possible – the ultimate fulfillment of all their efforts. It’s moving to hear it that way.
