Could your website’s donation page be more effective?
In this week’s video, Frank Barry from Blackbaud talks about the changes that are happening on donation pages. You’ll find out what will engage your visitors on your page, and what will make more people give to you.
Whether you are looking to drive people to your donation page for your event, for year end giving, for a capital campaign, or just for general fundraising, these three tips will help bring in more donations through your “donate now” button.

Thanks for these! Great tips…
These are appeals or campaigns vs. day to day fundraising. I agree for “goal” oriented fundraising i.e. an appeal this makes sense, but not so much for day to day fundraising purposes. However the idea of integrating the donation page into social media and vice versa is very effective and incredibly important. Every time you share a store, or something that has the potential to go viral it should include a link to your donation page. By the time someone reaches your donation page they should feel compelled to “give”.
We should all consider how we can fit the “next best thing” into our overall strategy, but in my mind there needs to be much more analysis about WHO is giving. Are you hitting the same donor constituency over and over, or are you using this as an acquisition tool to reach out to new donors? Following that, what is your strategy for retaining those new donors?
I think we should use any tool that makes sense, but we must also integrate it into our overall fundraising plan for the year–it is not a stand-alone strategy. It takes significant planning from launch, through promotion and retention.
Any tool that is well thought out can be useful!
Simple, straightforward and sweet!
