Episode #118
Today’s movie is more than just a video…
There’s a free tool that comes with it.
A while back, I was at an AFP workshop. Erica Mills was the presenter. One of the things she talked about was marketing and the “shiny object syndrome”. I approached her to share some of her workshop with you. So, fast forward a few months, and here she is in today’s video.
Erica has been working with nonprofits for a lot of years. She also teaches nonprofits marketing at the University of Washington. Some of her clients include the Gates Foundation, Group Health Foundation, PATH, and a whole bunch more. Out of her experience with nonprofits grew the “1, 2, 3 Marketing Tree”. She’ll be talking about that in the video and how this simple tool can make your life so much easier.
Download your own FREE copy of the “1, 2, 3 Marketing Tree” on Erica’s website. Also, be sure to check out the other freebies on her site. Good stuff!
If you have any stories or advice about nonprofit marketing, please share it in a comment box under the video. Thanks.

Thank you. This is very helpful. Our foundation is in the forming stages and we have not had a good strategic planning meeting yet. This will be useful to guide us. Thanks!

Our organization depends on volunteers engaging and fundraising at a very quick pace…I love the 123 tool and it will be great for board as well.

I can hear the movie, but I can’t see the movie. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks. Betty

This can sometimes happen if your version of Flash is out of date. Try installing the newest version of Flash. The other thing that can impede the video to play, is your IT dept. Sometimes they will write rules and put limiters in place so that no “un-authorized” streaming media can get through. So talk with your IT dept about that. Ask them to let media from this website to come through.
