Episode #114
When I heard this story, my jaw hit the ground.
In this week’s movie, Maree G. Bullock from The Alford Group talks about her experience when she was the CEO of family foundation. In the first part of the video, she talks about how people were able to get face to face meetings with the leaders of the foundation. (It wasn’t always that easy.)
In the second part of the video, she tells a story of how one nonprofit organization was able to get a meeting. And because of that meeting, they were awarded a million dollar grant. It’s a great story. She’ll share with you what happened and why they awarded the million dollars even though this nonprofit hadn’t been on their radar.
Here’s your chance to meet funders in person.
Meet people like Cate A. Fox from the MacArthur Foundation. The Alford Group is sponsoring the Panel of Funders at this year’s Nonprofit Storytelling Conference. You’ll learn what types of stories resonate with funders. And you’ll be able to ask each of the funders any questions you may have around applying for grants. If you have any tips or stories on how to get grants, please share them in a comment box under the video. Thanks.
