Focusing your message

Is communicating a clear and consistent message a problem for your nonprofit?

And how do you make it so that everyone in the organization understands and can articulate your message?

In today’s video, Kelly Pearson and Jessie Hooper from Wellspring Family Services will walk you through how they were able to create the clear and focused messaging their organization needed.  They will introduce you to a “messaging matrix” that will help you to focus your message.

As you’ll hear in the video, once they started using the messaging matrix, they started raising more money and other great things happened…all because they took the time to focus their message.

      This is totally the Benevon model! We are using it with great success this year. It was extremely helpful to go to the two-day workshop with Benevon coaches to work through this exact matrix with our team of seven people. It got us to the ‘the message’ so quickly and their ability to coach us got our message clear FAST!

    This Monday Movie was exceptional.

    As a small web based company we are always struggling with finding ways to communicate who we are, why we do what we do and to who benefits from our work, in as little time and space as possible. The matrix seems to be a great planning and monitoring tool to help better define key and strategic talking points.

    A viewer emailed me and said that Rebecca Leet at http://www.leetassociates.com came up with this messaging matrix. I don’t have any verification that she was the only one to come up with this matrix, but her book “Message Matters” looks like a good one to have. It has the Matrix in it and looks to guide folks through it (I haven’t seen the whole book – I only looked at the preview chapters on Amazon). I need to go buy it. 🙂

    Great vid… I think that collaboration with the comms/ marketing team is always key. And as fundraisers, we often try to toss in too many messages. This is so helpful!
