Episode #311
The board was worried.
Nobody thought they could raise the $5 Million dollars they needed to build another building.
However, the Major Gift Officer (MGO) knew what to do. He knew what the most powerful way to raise money was. And he raised the $5 million dollars within a few days.
In today’s video, you’ll hear how the MGO was able to raise the money. It’s a technique that you can use. It’s hugely effective and fast – as you’ll see in the video.
The video below is a piece of a conversation I had with Richard Perry, and Jeff Schreifels, from the Veritus Group. We had a good long conversation around major giving and storytelling.
The story Jeff tells about the Major Gift Officer demonstrates the most powerful way to raise money. You’ll want to watch the video all the way to the end.
If you want to learn more about how storytelling can get donors to give more, then come to the Nonprofit Storytelling Conference.
Do you have any tips around powerful ways to raise money? If so, please share them in a comment box below the video. Thanks.

Sometimes I think we forget that listening to donor stories can be even more important than telling our own. This was magical!
