When I return from a 7-10 day long donor visit trip, I will choose one day the following week to come into the office about 2 – 3 hours later and stay 2 – 3 hours past the time everyone else goes home. I get so much done during that uninterrupted, “quiet” time and usually get completely caught up from what was missed during the trip.
When I am on a trip, I try to schedule an afternoon or evening free of visits so I can visit an art museum or historical venue in the area to recharge my batteries!
