Helping others undertake acts of kindness and generosity

Episode #261

What’s the real purpose of your job?

Is it to raise money?  Plan an event? Write a newsletter?

After reading a quote from Jerold Panas, Chris Megargee from Global Partnerships thinks about his purpose as a nonprofit fundraiser a little bit differently.

In today’s video, Chris shares the quote and tells a story about one donor’s experience.

If you have any stories or advice around helping people to undertake acts of kindness and generosity, please share it with everyone else. Leave a comment under the video.  Thanks.

I enjoyed this video but I would like to amend the definition of what we do to say “We tell our story to inspire and help others undertake acts of kindness and generosity.”
A previous Movie Monday on storytelling brought home how powerful a tool this is.

Very helpful. Seeing and being with the people you are helping is very powerful. All of our donors need to be able to see and feel the people they are helping.
As always, thank you for the inspiration!

We have been working with an NGO in India for over 10 years. They have in turn been working with the rural poor of Himachal Pradesh for more than 30 years. The focus is water, sanitation, health, hunger, education, reources and SUSTAINABILITY.. They have a lot to offer the world in the way of a “model” of help for the rural and urban poor. They also need volunteer and financilal support to continue their work. Have a look at their web site and publications, Inspirational.. http://www.ruchin.org. The Rural Centre for Human Interests, RUCHI.
