3 Ways Google+ can help drive donors to your website

Episode #210

Are you skeptical of Google+ and what it can do for you?

I was.

After all, it’s just one more thing to waste your time on, right?

Well, I was talking with Marc Pitman, and he told me about why I might want to give Google+ a quick look. It actually made sense.  So I asked Marc to share with you what he shared with me.

In this week’s video, Marc shares 3 quick things you can do that will help drive more web traffic to your nonprofit’s website.  It’s a quick little video, so give it a look and see why you might what to spend just a little time with Google+.

Marc, by the way, wrote the book: Google+ for Nonprofits

Great food for thought! For some additional info on how Google+ can be used for nonprofits, check out this presentation from a March 2012 event at Groundwire: http://tinyurl.com/8rel67q

so why does the +1 not show up in my search results? And can someone +1 my stuff if they don’t have a G+ account?

    Jesse: Very astute.

Unfortunately, Google keeps tweaking. Since this was filmed, the +1 has now become “share” on Google searches. So board members and others can “share” the post, which is arguably better for your nonprofit than just a +1!

Great advice as usual Marc. As a relatively late adopter of Google +, I’ve been struggling with it a bit – so some clear actions like these are much appreciated. Oh, and I’ve Google+ this and connected with you too (I think!!).
